Being involved in the justice system, or residing within a detention facility has a major impact on our mental health. We are here to help you with whatever your goals may be. Long-term residents of detention centres may find it hard to adjust to the outside world, or to understand where and how they belong. We are here to help. We understand that life circumstances, traumatic events, accidents, hard childhoods, and survival mode can be the reason one becomes involved in the justice system, and we want you to know the justice system does not define you. You are not your past or your mistakes. You belong. We are here to help you with your journey.
The goals are to help maintain peace in the community, address mental health concerns, address trauma, work through institutionalization, build a support network, increase prosocial activities, increase social skills and related communication abilities, improving peer relationships, reduce antisocial behaviours and reduce recidivism,.
