Elements of Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

For individuals diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a structured approach to processing disturbing memories, while simultaneously addressing emotional responses to those memories. EMDR is a somewhat new emerging trauma therapy showing promising results. What clients like best about this trauma therapy, is that during sessions, the client does not need to verbalize the trauma they experienced.
We understand how difficult it can be to talk about traumatic experiences. EMDR has the compassionate component of addressing that trauma through guided eye movements while the client does not have to speak about the trauma(s) they experienced.
